Our Private Tutoring Team




Liz is psychotherapist (MHC-LP) in Greenpoint with a BA in Psychology from NYU and an M.S.E.d in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University. She is the head of Test Prep at Lil' Eggheads and specializes in preparing children for the Gifted & Talented, Stanford-Binet, and AABL exams.

Liz has worked as an in-class tutor for elementary school and as a behavior interventionist and classroom management consultant for a charter schools in NYC. She applies her knowledge of parent-child relationships, child development, and education to provide a holistic educational services.

Liz uses aspects of this behavioral approach in developing the Lil’ Eggheads Test Prep services. Additionally, her work in providing cognitive- behavioral training to individuals who have suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) informs the structure of test prep sessions to train children to concentrate for long periods of time in preparation for NYC entrance exams.

Alex is a private practice psychotherapist (LMSW) in Mindful Psychotherapy Services. She obtained her B.S. in Psychology and Master of Social Work from Fordham University and received training in family therapy from the Ackerman Institute for the Family. She is the head of Education Intervention services.

Alex has worked to socially and emotionally support pre-school and elementary age children in various classroom settings and private therapeutic settings. She incorporates her extensive work with children with developmental challenges and behavioral challenges to guide her at-home phonics/math curricula.

Alex uses aspects of play therapy and family therapy to provide integrative educational services. She seeks to meet the student’s social and emotional needs as they relate to their academic goals. She promotes the importance of social-emotional learning within sessions and teaches students the social, emotional, and behavioral management skills they need to improve their academic performance.

Education Interventionists



Maggie has a BA in Visual Media Arts from Emerson College. Her interests in teaching children and helping others led to her work with AmeriCorps, where she was assigned to teach elementary age children in St. Louis. While working at the school she had the opportunity to support children in reading and math in addition to supporting children in developing strong social-emotional skills. 

For two years, Maggie took the time to conceptualize and implement individual learning and behavioral plans for each student. She incorporated social-emotional learning skills within her academic lessons in order to build student confidence and promote positive behaviors that would serve them well them outside of the classroom. 

As an interventionist for Lil’ Eggheads, Maggie uses her strong curriculum building skills along with her strong emotional intelligence to engage with students in order to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs.



Nitin is a graduate student at Fordham University pursuing a Master’s in Social Work and has a BA in Psychology from Rutgers University – New Brunswick. He is on the clinical track and is passionate about mental health.  

Nitin has previously worked in several schools tutoring subjects ranging from math, English, science, and social studies. Additionally, he has developed lesson plans in accordance with Department of Youth & Community Development requirements and has experience managing students in a classroom setting. He has also led career planning workshops for students with disabilities and facilitated support groups for individuals living with mental illness.

Nitin utilizes his background in mental health to provide each child with individualized attention and tailors lessons according to their personal learning styles, ensuring that each child’s comprehensive needs are met.



Dannie has a B.A. in Psychology from Columbia College and an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University. Her passion for education and clinical work is deeply-rooted and ongoing.

Dannie has worked in both educational and therapeutic settings. In her experience tutoring children at SCORE! Educational Centers, she used positive reinforcement and empowered the children to reach their academic potential. While working in a clinical center, she facilitated groups and helped clients through individual treatment to address the roadblocks in their lives. She uses these skills in her work with children to help them to break down their own educational roadblocks by teaching emotional regulation and coping skills. As a military veteran, she uses the training she received to manage and maintain structure for children, particularly those with learning differences or behavioral challenges.

Dannie honors the discipline and dedication it takes to reach academic goals, while acknowledging and supporting the unique personal strengths of individual students. She views each child as vessels full of potential that need proper nurture and care, and uses her mental health background to contribute to their academic and social-emotional development.

Crystal has a B.S. in Social Work from NYU, where she developed a passion for mental health awareness and providing therapeutic treatments that uphold social justice values.

Crystal’s desire to work with children led her to be a first-grade Assistant Teacher. She met individually with students, developing creative ways to engage them and tutoring them in mathematics and language arts. She has worked with children diagnosed with learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder, utilizing behavioral techniques to help clients build social, organizational, and daily functioning skills. Crystal also has four years of research experience in attachment theory, and implemented a mindfulness intervention program that led to positive socio-emotional developmental outcomes.

As an interventionist for Lil’ Eggheads, Crystal integrates her experience in implementing therapeutic treatments with her experience as a teacher and tutor. Given her strong ability to contextualize barriers to success, she creates an individualized plan that caters to each student’s unique strengths and difficulties to help meet their academic and socio-emotional goals.




Simrun is a data analyst with an BA in Economics from The Pennsylvania State University and an MA in Education and Social Policy from New York University. She is working with Lil’ Eggheads to provide a combination of data capacity building support and analysis of student outcome data.

For the last three years, Simrun has worked with a portfolio of charter schools with their data needs to think about long term sustainable solutions. She currently supports school leadership teams in New York City charter schools as a data facilitator with the implementation of data tools and development of reliable organizational processes to help students graduate from high school. This includes coaching school leadership and facilitating professional development around using data tools to inform student programming.

Lil’ Eggheads values her passion for education, social policy, and overall student success.
