Our Team




Liz is psychotherapist (MHC-LP) in Greenpoint with a BA in Psychology from NYU and an M.S.E.d in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University. She is the head of Test Prep at Lil' Eggheads and specializes in preparing children for the Gifted & Talented, Stanford-Binet, and AABL exams.

Liz has worked as an in-class tutor for elementary school and as a behavior interventionist and classroom management consultant for a charter schools in NYC. She applies her knowledge of parent-child relationships, child development, and education to provide a holistic educational services.

Liz uses aspects of this behavioral approach in developing the Lil’ Eggheads Test Prep services. Additionally, her work in providing cognitive- behavioral training to individuals who have suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) informs the structure of test prep sessions to train children to concentrate for long periods of time in preparation for NYC entrance exams.

Alex is a psychotherapist (LMSW) in Midtown Manhattan with a BS in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from Fordham University. She is the head of Phonics/Math services and specializes in phonics, reading, reading comprehension, math, and writing.

Alex has worked to socially and emotionally support pre-school and elementary age children in various classroom settings and private therapeutic settings. She incorporates her extensive work with children with developmental challenges and behavioral challenges to guide her at-home phonics/math curricula.

Alex uses aspects of play therapy and family therapy to provide integrative educational services. She seeks to meet the student’s social and emotional needs as they relate to their academic goals. She promotes the importance of social-emotional learning within sessions and teaches students the social, emotional, and behavioral management skills they need to improve their academic performance.

Kristen is a graduate student pursuing a dual Master's in Child Development and Social Work at a competitive program offered by NYU and Sarah Lawrence College. She is interested in building on her current MA in Bilingual and Multicultural Education from the University of Alcalá (Madrid, Spain). 

While in Spain, she taught elementary school-age children in private and classroom settings. As a result, she was able to  collaborate with bilingual Spanish households to provide support for children who struggled with phonics and reading. 

As a tutor for Lil’ Eggheads, she draws on her experience in managing children's behavior in groups and one-on-one to meet each child’s unique needs. Kristen is fluent in both English and Spanish. 



Maggie has a BA in Visual Media Arts from Emerson College. Her interests in teaching children and helping others led to her work with AmeriCorps, where she was assigned to teach elementary age children in St. Louis. While working at the school she had the opportunity to support children in reading and math in addition to supporting children in developing strong social-emotional skills. 

For two years, Maggie took the time to conceptualize and implement individual learning and behavioral plans for each student. She incorporated social-emotional learning skills within her academic lessons in order to build student confidence and promote positive behaviors that would serve them well them outside of the classroom. 

As a tutor for Lil’ Eggheads, Maggie uses her strong curriculum building skills along with her strong emotional intelligence to engage with students in order to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs.

Mayar is a graduate student at Hunter College studying Mental Health Counseling. She has a BS in Applied Psychology from New York University. Her passion for helping children with disabilities has pushed her to work with America Reads and Counts, where she was assigned to work in an Integrated Co-teaching classroom. In the classroom, she supported children with learning disabilities and special needs as well as general ed students in understanding the criteria of every subject through one-on-one teaching.

Additionally, Mayar has worked at Gouverneur Health in their Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Department. She assisted therapists in running Parent-Child Interaction Therapy sessions and worked on emotionally supporting children with dysregulated behaviors.

As a tutor for Lil' Eggheads, Mayar uses her experience to identify an approach that suits each child's way of thinking. She is fluent in both English and Arabic.
