APPLICATION PROCESS


Kindergarten Entry

Application Process

Mid-November: Submit Request for Testing (RFT) Form online here or fill out an RFT Form in a Family Welcome Center here.

January: Your school will let you know your child’s testing date at their discretion. 

April: Receive your child’s score. If they qualify for a G&T program, you’ll also receive a G&T application. You’ll need to submit your application!

June: Receive notice on whether you’ve been accepted to a G&T program and send your decision to those schools.

Testing Process

There is no time limit to taking the G&T exam. Expect to be on the testing site for 1-2 hours. Pre-K students are usually taken to a separate waiting area where they await their proctor. The student works with a proctor one-on-one and can answer multiple choice questions by pointing. 


1st Grade - 3rd Grade Entry

December: Testing date and time is confirmed.

January: Testing Month.

April: Receive your child’s score. If they qualify for a G&T program, you’ll also receive a G&T application. You’ll need to submit your application!

June: Receive notice on whether you’ve been accepted to a G&T program and send your decision to those schools.

Testing Process

At the school-appointed time and date, your Kindergarten-2nd grade student will be pulled from their class to a group of 5 students (Kindergarten) or 10 students (1st grade or 2nd grade). Your student will have a pencil, which will be needed to fill in the bubbles to answer the multiple choice questions on the test.
